Before you come in

  • Write down the questions and concerns you want to discuss with your therapist.
  • List symptoms that may matter to the therapist.
  • Have your key past medical history, previous treatments and current medications in writing.
  • Call the office to verify your insurance benefits.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment.
  • Bring a copy of your insurance card and a photo ID.

What happens at your first visit

  1. You register

Our front office staff help you through the insurance process and treatment program so you can focus on recovery.

  2. You meet your therapist

Your physical therapist asks about your medical history and current pain or injury, and answers your questions about therapy and your condition.

  3. We evaluate how you move

Movement, strength, coordination and more are evaluated. Tell your therapist if anything hurts or bothers you during the exam.

  4. You get a plan and a start

Your therapist recommends a course of treatment and discusses it with you. Some treatments begin the first day, and the full plan starts at your next visit.

  5. You schedule your visits

The amount of therapy needed is discussed with you, based on your therapist’s and physician’s recommendations. Your therapist writes up findings and the plan for your referring physician or the medical professional you choose.
